James Romeo… To be able to visit the home and walk on the same floor as Abraham Lincoln, a great leader in American history, is such a special experience. I tried to imagine myself in the 1850's, wondering what my life would have been like. The home is exhibited in much the same way it would have looked in the mid 19th century when Lincoln lived there with his family. Admission is always free and the tour leaves you with a better understanding of the family life of Lincoln before he became the sixteenth president of the United States.
Joseph Caylor… Starting from a log cabin in Kentucky to the White House, Abraham Lincoln's life and career can be best described at the only house he ever owned, now the Lincoln Home National Historic Site in Springfield Illinois. The National Park Service gives free tours and provides great information on how one of the most important leaders in U.S. and world history lived from day to day. While his life was tragically cut short, you can visit not just Lincoln the legend, but Lincoln the father and husband at his historic home.
