Joseph Caylor… While most people who travel near Unicoi State Park usually visit the nearby village of Helen, this park has an attraction all its own.
For those who want to truly be with nature in the mountains, but still be close to amenities such as cottages and camping shelters, Unicoi State Park certainly fits the bill.
The centerpiece of the park is Unicoi Lake, nestled in the north Georgia mountains. Just hiking the trail around it was a rewarding experience.
If you are in the Helen area and would like a starting point for visiting the great outdoors, I'd definitely recommend visiting Unicoi State Park first.
